Joy Diamonds

Diamonds were thrown down from heaven tonight as I drove along the highway. Snow fell quickly and all you could see of the road was the tire tracks of the vehicle in front of us. It was slippery. It was cold. It wasn't something I like to drive in.
Yet, those diamonds.
The snow glittered on the roadway, and in the glow of the headlights, each fragment of falling snow caught the light and showered us with sparkles.
Christmas music played on the speakers in our mini-van.
Voices sang out.

"O come, all ye faithful ..."
~ A call to those who believe in the truth of the manger.
"Joyful and triumphant ..."
~ A pair of words describing expectation and victory.
"Come and behold Him ..."
~ A command deserving a response.
"Sing in exultation ..."
~ A response of rejoicing, of great happiness.

Confetti diamonds continued as we moved on down the road.
And I smiled at the beauty of the sparkle.
How appropriate for glitter-snow to surround us as we hear songs of light and life.
Of hope and joy.
Joy lights up everything.
Joy diamonds spray all over and make sparkles.

When the faithful come and assume a joyful and triumphant stance ...
A joy-diamond glides down.
When they come and behold, truly seeing this remarkable thing found in Christmas ...
A joy-diamond settles within.
When they sing, praising joyfully ...
A joy-diamond sets life on fire.
Joy overflows.
Light shines.
Sparkles are tossed around and we can live in their twinkling light.

So, come.
Come, all you faithful.
Let the impact of Christmas settle in your hearts as diamonds, radiating joy inward and outward.
Let it stun you; let it cause you to wonder.
Let it stir your spirit to exalt the manger-King and to exult with passionate joy.
Come, let us adore Him!
