Glory, Glory, Hallelujah!

I'm going to go backward here.
Bear with me.
This is a verse that I love.
Really LOVE.
But I'm seeing it backwards right now.
Starting with praise.
Here it is ~

To God be the glory.
Glory ~ honour, praise, admiration.
So, God deserves all glory.
For He is worthy. He is Creator, Father, Lover-of-our-souls, Friend. He is our hope, our salvation, our joy, our heart's desire, our defender, protector, provider.
To Him be the glory.

According to His power that is at work within us ...
There are things going on inside of us. In our minds. In our spirits. In our bodies. There is a driving force that pulses within, stirring us up. For those of us who love God, He is that power. He is that energy. He is that nudging. He dwells in us. He empowers us.
He is at work in us. His power makes it all happen. His love is power.

More than all we ask or imagine ...
I don't know about you, but I have a lot of requests for God. I also have great imaginations of what things in life should look like, or how they should go. I have a running list of things. My brain is always working on it. Sometimes it is overwhelming.
I wonder, "God? Did you get all that?"
But here He is talking about MORE.
So I am exploring the mores. Here's a little treasure hunt ~
More joy - good news of great joy (Luke 2:10); we can be "happy with a glorious, inexpressible joy" (1 Peter 1:8)
More hope - the God of hope fills us with all joy (Rom. 15:13). He brings joy and peace and hope.
More peace - He leaves us with peace (John 14:27)
More love - His faithful love endures forever (repeated over and over in Psalm 136) ~ eternal love
More grace - from His fullness we have more grace (John1:16)
More life  - life in all its fullness (John 10:10)
More help - in our troubled time, He is very present (Ps. 46:1)
More of His presence - He will NEVER leave us (Heb. 13:5)
More, more, more of Him.
Beyond our thinking. Beyond what we can put together in our brains as even a possibility.

Immeasurably ...
Cannot be measured.
Without limits.
An infinity of possibilities.
Immeasurably more is incomprehensible to us.

Now to Him who is able ...
He can.
He has the power to do.
He has the skill to do.
He has the means to do.
He has the wisdom to do.
He has the love to do, immeasurable love.
He will.

Which brings us back to giving glory to God.
Because after all that discovery, who else can or should get the glory?
It belongs to Him and Him alone.
And I stand humbled and awestruck.
May we only understand, even a little bit, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, and how deep His love really is. (Ephesians 3:18)

And the verse?
This.

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory ..." (Ephesians 3:20-21, NIV)
